Discoveries in the Sand: Facilitating a Play Therapy Sand Tray Session

This webinar provides an overview of the facilitative skills of sand tray work as a modality of play therapy.  This webinar discusses appropriate client selection, how to structure a sand tray session, integration of counseling goals into sand tray work, implement facilitative reflections process a client’s sand tray, and build upon the sand tray metaphors to enhance meaning.  Demonstrations and case examples are provided to illustrate concepts and skills. 



1) Participants will be able to identify critical aspects in structuring a sand tray, play therapy session, which include materials, client screening, and consideration for counseling goals.

2) Participants will be able to identify at least three uses for sand tray in play therapy.

3) Participants will be able to describe at least three ways to take the metaphor deeper when processing a client’s sand tray in play therapy.
